Plastic packaging is clogging the oceans, soils, the air and even our bodies. Plastic pollution has become so pervasive that it threatens all life on Earth. A central part of our mission is to help people reduce their everyday plastic use, while enjoying delightful, best-in-class body care.
ETHICAL PACKAGING
Ethical packaging is central to our mission of reducing plastic in everyday products. We believe that packaging should not just protect the product, it should protect the health of the planet and all of its inhabitants too. Our priorities for product packaging are:
MAKE IT COMPOSTABLE
Our shampoo bars, conditioner bars, herbal balms and deodorants come to you in compostable boxes and jars. These containers are made from paper with recycled content and can be safely returned to the Earth. Unlike plastic, which doesn't decompose and which breaks down into polluting microparticles, our packaging returns valuable inputs to the soil. USE RECYCLED CONTENT
We seek out paper with the highest available content of post-consumer waste and products that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. Our shampoo bar and conditioner bar boxes are made from unbleached, minimum 30% post-consumer recycled paperboard.
IF NOT PAPER, THEN GLASS OR METAL
Some products can't be packaged in paper. Our Day & Night Facial Oil and Beard Oil are packaged e in reusable, recyclable glass jars. Unlike plastic, glass can be recycled without losing quality or adding virgin materials. Our Natural Deodorants and Unscented Skin Fix are packaged in recyclable metal tins that are also convenient for travel.
SHIPPING PACKAGING
How products are shipped matters too! We use paper-based shipping packaging (boxes and recycled padded mailers) and paper fill, no plastic or foam. We seal the boxes with paper-based tape.
